How did you get your start?
Our journey started in competitive BBQ in 2009 when my sons, and I cooked a backyard competition in Columbus, MS. This journey began as a hobby just to have fun and spend time together. As time went on and our competitive spirit became stronger, we decided to start cooking the KCBS circuit locally. Walking the stage numerous times in chicken, pork, ribs and brisket. Winning numerous Grand championships, receiving invitations to compete at the American Royal World Series of BBQ and The Jack Daniels World Championship. As the world of competitive BBQ became more specialized, we started looking to take over other competitions competing in the Steak Cookoff Association.
Where did HOTTY TOTTY come from?
2019 my wife and I competed in the SCA World Championship, and Kickoff Classic walking the stage in both categories. 

2020 my year kicked off with a 1st place win at The Shed against over 200 teams from all over the country. I had 7 wins in SCA contests and 25 top 10 calls in 8 states, cooking a total of 60 contests. I finished in 14th place in the USA Ace Hardware Points Chase. 

The highlight of 2021 was Melissa winning the Octagon Steak Challenge in St. Louis and splitting a $10,000 purse.  

Melissa and I completed in 130+ SCA steak competitions across the country in 2022. Appearing on multiple TV episodes around the country.

2023 I joined the cast of Barbecue Country becoming the mentor to backyard cook Brytt Bojczak on The Country Network. After 3 grueling rounds we became the champions.​ This won Brytt a trip to World Foods Championship competing in Live Fire and Fire Womans Challange. Keeping the winning team together we took Hotty-Totty products to challenge the world. Live Fire first round took 3rd with and almost perfect score in steak. Final round took 6th in the world. 

2024 We started Team Hotty-Totty with over 20 BBQ/Steak teams joining the mission of winning everything in our path! We also are heading back to World Steak Championship and World Foods Championship.
Our seasonings are in locations from Coast to Coast. Extending to Canada and other regions . We have even jumped the pound invading many countries in Europe. Hotty Totty can be found in New Zealand and Australia as well. Competing is a passion for myself and my team, and we are very proud of the results of our products in BBQ and steak competitions across the country.

Born and raised in Marietta, Mississippi with Red and Blue always running through my veins, it was only fitting to make my college career at Ole Miss. The chant HOTTY TODDY became a house old song said many of Saturdays through my life. It was only fitting to name my team after my love for my state and Alma mater.
